HOOD RIVER AREA

The Hood River Valley, 65 miles east of Portland along the Columbia River,
has long been world famous for its’ apples, pears and cherries. Today,
the area increasingly draws visitors from around the world who come to
experience the truly awesome wind-surfing opportunities in the
Columbia Gorge, the year-round skiing on Mt. Hood, or the mountain biking,
mountaineering and hiking opportunities that abound in the area.

The major metropolitan area of Portland is close by. Access is easy along
Interstate 84, or the very scenic way up and around the south slopes of
Mt. Hood and down the valley, following the course of the Hood River until
it meets the Columbia at the City of Hood River.
